Life Skills Coaching for Young People

Life Coaching

What is Life Coaching?

You might be wondering what life coaching is and have probably heard of a sports coach or a voice coach. Well, life coaching is similar as it helps you to learn skills and practise techniques to get better and life skills coaching focuses on areas of life such as being confident about yourself, getting on with people, managing your emotions, dealing with difficult situations and keeping yourself healthy.

Coaching with me will help you learn about yourself, for example, what you’re good at and what’s stopping you from doing the things you want to do, so you can get past difficulties and challenges to be able to achieve the things you want in your life.

Life coaching isn’t like counselling or mentoring, so doesn’t involve telling you what you should do or asking you about difficult past experiences. With life coaching the focus is on the future. We start from where you are now, I will help you to identify where you would like to be and then will provide plenty of support and encouragement along the way!

How Does Life Coaching Help?

Life coaching can help you to:

  • – Boost your confidence and self-esteem
  • – Manage anxiety, stress and overwhelm
  • – Build positive relationships with others
  • – Develop life skills and learn coping techniques to manage difficult situations
  • – Increase your self-awareness
  • – Feel good about yourself

What happens in a Life Coaching Session?

I will listen to you and will ask you questions which help you to work things out and decide what you want to do next. It sounds simple but it does depend on you doing homework – though not school type of homework! I might suggest useful techniques or activities for you to try so that you can build on what you’re good at and develop new skills to tackle the issue you’re dealing with.
